Mission Statement

To instill in all Riverview students a healthy self-image, a love of learning, and the desire to achieve their best.

Riverview Elementary

Points of Pride
¨      Choice Time that is offered during noon recess.  In addition to going outside to play on the playground, children can experience adult led creative activities after they enjoy their lunch.
¨      Family nights for Math and Reading. 1st - 5th grade students enjoy playing math and reading games with their family members. When they leave, the students are given bags with additional learning tools including a packet containing game directions for parents.
¨
Science Share/Community Night. This is a partnership formed between community organizations and our school personnel.  Individual and classroom experiments are on display in the gymnasium. Throughout the halls, we have over 35 groups and organizations displaying what they have to offer children and parents in our community.
¨      Reading Buddies. This activity is held during the school day when young readers are paired with older readers to enjoy literature together. Friendships are formed, leadership is developed, reading skills are enhanced, and children take delight in enjoying books together.
¨      Pride in the diversity that we offer in academics. Students are provided with extra support in small groups, one-on-one assistance, and individualized instruction. We also present an accelerated math and reading program. Teachers offer ability grouping in reading and math and some teachers team teach various subjects according to their own strengths.
